2018 Election Approaching

I, Randy Fontenot, hereby announce my candidacy for re-election as your Chief of Police for the City of Eunice. I have been serving as your Chief of Police since 2015.
Prior to being elected your Chief of Police I was involved in law enforcement for 32 years. I began my law enforcement career in 1982 with the Eunice Police Department and rose through the ranks becoming a Lieutenant, the rank at which I retired. I served as patrol supervisor, Chief of Detectives and Chief Juvenile Officer. I was appointed as the first probation officer for Eunice City Court in 1990 by the Honorable Lynette Y. Feucht, and served in that position until becoming Chief of Police.
I was recognized as Officer of the Year of the Eunice Police Department in 1989 and in 1990 as Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer for the State of Louisiana by the Department of Louisiana V.F.W.
During my tenure with the Eunice Police Department, I have attended a wide variety of trainings, including Community Policing and Crimes Against the Elderly. In addition to these trainings I completed a POST training program for Juvenile Officers, graduating second in the class and have attended many other trainings pertaining to juvenile offenders and victims.
I currently serve on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon School Safety Commission.
I have served on the Eunice Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board.
I am the founder and past president of the Louisiana Misdemeanor Probation Officers’ Association.
I have served as a director and president of the St. Landry Parish Children and Youth Services Planning Board.
I am an active member of the Eunice Players Theatre and served on the theatre’s Board of Directors.
I am currently a member of the Louisiana Chiefs’ of Police Association, Louisiana Misdemeanor Probation Officers’ Association, Kiwanis Club of Eunice and Harmony Lodge #410.
When it comes to business experience I was co-owner and manager of a small family business with several employees and was owner and operator of Superior Training Academy teaching driver’s education.
I am married to my wife of 35 years, Stephanie and the father of 2 daughters, Crystal Clark, married to Robby, and Mindy Jack, married to Chris. We have four grandchildren, Nathan, Kaleb and Allison Clark and Kohlston Jack.
